About to have a baby, and in a sticky situation! What are the best options??

So, I just started a contract to “possible higher” after 6 months position. I love this job. I strategically took this position to get my foot In the door for a specific field. My plan was simply to either get converted into a full time employee, or find a full time position somewhere else once the 6 months is up. Is it common to be able to receive unemployment after a temporary job?? 2. If I’m hired in, should I tell the company about my pregnancy at the time that they tell me they want me, and then use unpaid FMLA, and struggle for months until I start work again? (they don’t offer paid maternity leave unless you’ve been there for 6 months) 3. Or when my contract ends, should I look for a job that will offer paid maternity leave after I’m there for 3 months, and have a secured job when I return? (sounds like a pipe dream, I know)
