So I'm a line cook at a small-ish pizza place. There's this host who works there who I'm refering to as John. John has always rode a behavioral line that makes it hard to call him out for, but he's always been a little off with the women, especially the younger women. John is in his mid twenties. One of my coworkers and close friend, who I'll call Amy, was cleaning the other day when an explicit sexual remark was made by John. Amy is 17. She didn't hear it, but heard about it afterwards from co-workers. Nobody would tell her what was said at first, which obviously frustrated her. She was told it was sexual in nature and that was it. She eventually got what was actually said out of someone and was, obviously, incredibly upset by it. She told a manager about it, adding “And if I tell my boyfriend about it he'll probably drive here and kick his ass”. Which the (male) manager replied “Or don't tell him and not make it a bigger deal than it has to be.” She came to me and I have never been in a situation like this before, so I came here to ask what we should do.
