AE have a hard time watching movies with wealthy characters?

I wrote this first in movies sub but realized this may be a better community to write it in for support as I wrote it to not feel alone in this, not a critique on all movies or audiences who love them. As a kid to young adult I used to love every movie and TV show. They were all amazing escapes and I dreamed anything was possible. As an adult, especially an older one where I have less time than before, it’s hard to watch some movies. For me it’s hard to watch movies with very wealthy people. As a kid to young adult I used to love every movie and TV show. They were all amazing escapes and I dreamed anything was possible.

As an adult, especially an older one where I have less time than before, it’s hard to watch some movies.

For me it’s hard to watch movies with very wealthy people. I watched the first episode of LOOT and was more angry that she was still very rich despite “losing it all.”

I saw some new movie entitled Bezos just come out and wanted to vomit.

Watched Home Alone for the umpteenth time and it hit different. I realized that if our ornaments broke (that we were handed down) it might mean mean no ornaments next year. It’s difficult knowing that wealth exists on a CEO level and there are those not having any financial difficulties these holiday season while they travel to foreign countries.

I saw Glass Onion and didn’t care they were making fun of rich people because I’d rather be made fun of and rich right now than worried about getting sick or hurt and affording basic health care.

Iron Man I don’t give a crap about anymore.

I’m not saying any of those are bad movies, it’s just difficult to see for me now.

The wage gap is so vast not in my adult life that it’s difficult to escape in entertainment now.

And most movies with those in lower incomes seem to be just as depressing as life is being in those incomes.

I get it, we uses movies to escape, it’s just hard recently.

I personally am glad I didn’t spend the little money we have on a movie theater ticket to see some of these, I would have been more depressed.

As a community that understands the difficulties in a society and world with such an extreme income gap, the hardships and inequalities that work produces on that level, I thought I would post here. My apologies if I shouldn’t post here about this.
