I work at a startup in the finance sector. Good mid-level marketing role with tons of challenges but not nearly enough resources and help to actually do my job as I want or implement my projects (many of them would be key to help a lot other areas with their main struggles).
I won’t take stuff for granted and say I didn’t enjoy my time at the company at all but after many many months of having to be a one man army and almost a hundred hours of overtime, I was fired due to the company’s financial reasons
I’m pretty privileged and have a ton of savings but I was really worried I wouldn’t have another job for some time due to the economic crisis in my country.
Less than 24 hours later, I had a job interview with a pretty well known startup in my country and I got a fantastic job offer a couple of hours later with a ton of benefits, higher salary and a more senior role to work with a product I actually believe in.
Oh, and I also will get a pretty big severance pack
Moral of the story? Maybe the future holds a lot better things for you. When a window closes, maybe a door will open for you.
