Back in March, the acting manager called me into his office, and offered me a permanant contract. (I was on a 6 month contract).
I have been chasing a written offer and contract since then, as I have no contract at all at this moment, and keep explaining to HR that I'm worried that they could sack me at any time, and I have no leg to stand on.
Today I recieved an offer to extend my contract for another 6 months, up until the end of October (6 months from the end of my last contract.)
I wrote back and explained they have sent the wrong contract, as I was offered a permanent position, and they wrote back and said that the person who offered that contract is no longer in that position, and they are only offering me a 6 month contract, as work dries up over Xmas, and they don't want to offer permanent contracts because of this.
If I had been give the contract when it was offered to me, it would signed, and done now, but I currently have no guarantee that I will have work from the end of October!
What should I do???
