Currently work as a maintenance supervisor at a resort in western -NY and it’s a salary position. Pretty good pay for my area and decent benefits. Here’s where my issue comes into play I’m expected to work 40 hours during spring, summer season which is understandable I am salary, but I’m also on call 24/7 and always have to answer. During winter I’m expected to work 60+ hours and still on call and during winter I get called back into work nearly everyday or every other day. I’m working ridiculous hours get no overtime, don’t get compensated for mileage, and am only allowed to hire one part time person for winter and not allowed to go over 25 hours. The rest of the year I’m a supervisor to myself alone.
Another issue I have is pervious people in this position said for years they had a three man year round crew and it’s been knocked down to just me and the guy before me quit for these reasons.
Am I being abused, can I do anything please give me any advice thank you.
