Attendance points are an outdated relic.

Currently, I'm going through a medical issue with my gut health and some days I can't make the 30 minute drive to work. There is no option for remote work as it's a factory job.

When I have to call in, they use my vacation time to make up for the missed day, but also apply a point to the day. I'm already being forced to use a vacation day.

They do the same thing if you request time off and don't have any PTO time. I requested two days off for my best friend's Bachelor party. The Supervisor said “You don't have any vacation time to use, so it'll have to be unpaid.” Which is fine, I have a small savings. But then he told me that taking those days off would count against my attendance and I'm getting close to getting a write-up for that.

Does anyone have an opinion on attendance points? Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way
