I work for a high demand job that is considered essential. I started in March and there is a 90 day probation that it's extremely frowned upon to call out. I'd also like to mention that frequently I work 12 hour shifts so I'm bone tired.
Fast forward to now.. since Friday/Thursday I had been getting progressively sick. It got so bad I had to go to urgent care to have steroids so my throat wouldn't close and I could breathe.
Well Saturday morning I called in to let them know. And my supervisor said ” you know/realize how bad it is to call out in your 90 days” abd like scoffed at me… So I told her that well I was throwing up and I didn't think I could physically labor and drive a car to which she said whatever.
Well doctors think I have covid and it's a real threat that I might get fired when I get back. I'm thinking of just quitting pre-emptively. Idk my boyfriend thinks I should think it over but like why should I be treated like dirt for trying to do the right thing. I don't want to infect a whole office.
