Iam a regional manager for a seasonal job. We work the end of February to the beginning of January. Its a very hands on,outside thru the majority of it. I make around 38 grand,have a company car,that i can only use for xonpany purposes.
The company barely helps me hire people,they gave me extra stores to cover(10 but sometimes 12) they expect me to hit every store once a week to check in,but I MUST merchandise stores that dont have coverage on delivery days, merchandising the stores can take up to 3-4 hours each. I have 5 stores not covered,all these stores get big deliveries daily soon,Ism srill expected to check in on other stores,even tho i get pictures daily from the reps at my covered stores. All of my stores are also very far apart(hour or so)
They expect me to work 7 days a week,nonstop for at least 3 months,others get days off,I do not. Ive been sick,and in pain for weeks,I cant even make doctor appointments,the car needs to be serviced,but I cant take the time to do it because I have to cover at least 3-4 stores a day,and try to make time to train the people I have finally hired. I dont get delivery lists till about 7pm the night before…
I know I get a good two n a half months off,paid. but im wondering if its really worth it? Last summer I had a medical emergency. I was seeing spots,couldnt form/talk/think of the right words,felt like i was going to pass out,had numbness in my hands and mouth. I honestly thought I was having a stroke. I went to the hospital,yay debt! and they said it was either a mini stroke or a panic attack. My job couldnt give two shits about it. It happened again a couple weeks ago,ive been having increased anxiety and stress. The response from my employer was to start my day earlier…
Im just not aure anymore if its worth it. I know I save cash on a car,gas and insurance for the car,and they pay 40$ to my cell phone. But not being able to take care of myself and no days off is insane to me.
