So around two months ago I started training for a job at this nice new tobacco store in my small town $8 an hour was agreed on with raises as I take on more responsibility. Only the owner & his (13m) son work there with the son running the store by himself for most of the day on some days. As training went on longer coming up on two weeks he said he wanted me to open up and run the store from 7 till a little after lunch & I agreed, trained a few more days got a key and started doing it and have been doing it for 1 & a half months now & enjoy it. I’ll sometimes work an 8 or so hour day but usually 5-7. I recently took 140 customers in an 8 hour shift! So it’s a bit stressful lol. My responsibilities aren’t much besides customers it’s just stocking, answering phone calls, signing for packages, empty water from drink coolers, mop/sweep, etc… I was just wondering am I getting paid enough given the responsibility? I just don’t know much about this work, only ever worked farm labor jobs. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
