I have quit my call center job, and now I am looking for a job.
I had an interview at 2pm today for a job at a Doggy daycare center. They literally told me I start training Wednesday and that I should come a little early so they can get all my equipment ready for me. I happily approved. Few hours later they texted me “there will not be training on Wednesday, position has been filled”
I was quite annoyed at this extremely unprofessional shitty move. I move on with my life and try yet again to look for a job.
I just want a simple job that goes Monday-Friday. That's it.
I'm okay with working from 9-5. I'm okay with working night shifts. I'm okay with full time and part time.
I won't work in factories/men's work, because I am a small female and I cannot lift that much weight nor do I wish to work in a hazardous, unsafe environment.
My only other condition is I will not work Sundays. It it the only day I get to spend time with the person I love. I will not give that up. I am already hesitant on giving up Saturdays, but I'm okay with working on that day sometimes
But dear god, every single damn job posting says “weekend availability”, must work weekends, “must very flexible”, etc.
I've tried applying to those jobs anyways too, when they ask what days I can work I check everything but Sundays. NEVER HEAR ANYTHING BACK.
What is the deal with needing to be available at every beck and call 24/7… I'm not a slave.
I've been searching jobs for weeks already on indeed. Just really depressing, because I need money for school.
