The work my girlfriend does requires her to bill the clients after she completes her task, it’s usually just something that is done without really looking at it – who really wants to see just how much they are making off of you. Today being Juneteenth I ask if she’s getting holiday pay “no” is her response, working there previously, I said “wouldn’t it be fucked up if they are charging holiday fees…”
You know where this is going.
Sure enough the company is charging their clients a very high holiday rate fee (for reference, the fee is anywhere between double all the way up to triple the total normal fees charged)
So this company literally is charging other companies very large fees for a holiday that celebrates the freedom of our ancestors from slavery, while refusing to pay their workers holiday pay, is this racist or am I crazy?
