Amazon HR story. A guy was stealing thousands of dollars worth of laptops.

So this is a story told to me by a coworker who was in the office when it happened. So they suspected this guy of stealing laptops (he did do it) But HR did not have actual proof of this. So they sat him down and started to grill him on it, asking him if he did it and how he did it. He denied everything. Until the HR lady told him “look, if you confess we wont call the police.” After trying to gain the guys trust he finally caved and said “ok, yeah I did steal the laptops. After he said that The HR lady picked up the phone and said “yes, this is Amazons warehouse in bla bla bla. I have a worker here that just confessed to theft, please send over an officer.” The guys jaw dropped in shock. They arrested him and took him to…

Moral of the story. Don’t trust HR.
