Productivity is down according to US Gov. measurements compared to last year. What I wonder is this:
- What is actually being produced and how is that measured.
- Is what is being produced of any actual value or is it some kind of bullshit products/services.
- Is it that people don't have incentive be productive since their efforts won't get properly rewarded, or they'll be fired/laid off no matter what.
This article makes me think back to a youtube video from Wisecrack talking about “Bullshit Jobs”. Using the show “The Office” as an example they go into a discussion about how many of the jobs in the US at least, are just boring monotonous tasks that serve not real purpose other than so you the employee can collect a paycheck. It makes me wonder how many people have realized how worthless their jobs are and just want out? What are your guys' thoughts on this?
