I'm sure you've all seen those r/relationship_advice posts where the clearly abused OP is asking what to do about their partner who is sweet, loving, caring, perfect, except there is just one little problem: they eat babies and choke OP in their sleep (hyperbole, but you get the idea).
You see the classic responses: red flag emojis and 'run' followed by 'this' posts. Its so easy to see from the outside how the relationship is a toxic unsalvageable nightmare and anyone with self-respect would dip in a heartbeat.
So it's just crazy that for so long so many of us have normalized the toxic, exploitive and abusive behaviors found in many workplace dynamics. Antiwork has served as a wake up call for many people and has shown that these relationships don't have to be antagonistic.
Just like in romantic relationships, positive relationships rely on honest communication and mutual respect. Just like how it's better to be single than be with an abusive person, it's better to be unemployed than work for an abusive employer.
Never for a second think you are not deserving of respect and fairness in any relationship. These are the bare minimum requirements for any positive relationship in life. You. Deserve. Respect.
