Anybody have experience having to call the employer to be interviewed and not the other way around?

I have been working for the past 6 years since getting out of high school. Started with small businesses and slowly moved up to different companies. Even lived abroad for a bit. So I’ve had different experiences in regards to interviews. Today’s the first time I’ve been asked to call an employer to be interviewed. The job itself has to do with packages. Didn’t know it can be privately owned. Stable hours but expected to work most Saturdays. Job description said $17-$19 but was told that starting is $17 but potential for $18 in 100 days. Sick pay and retirement but no health benefits.
