Anyone had a “business case” raised for them for a pay increase and been fucked around?

Location: Australia Throwaway account. Basically I’ve started with a massive company at the beginning of the year in a middle managerial position, with significant prior knowledge and skills that are used in my position. There is nobody else with the same niche training that I have, so it is used in my work. I’ve recently coordinated/managed and completed a $400,000 project. I worked my ass off, and when it was finished I was told my the head manager that it would be recognised in the monthly online newsletter, along with my photograph in front of the completed project. Throwaway account. This never happened. I was extremely disappointed by this as the last thing I heard was “next week we will be getting a photographer out” and then it was radio silence.

About the same time as this happening, I was told by my direct supervisor that she was really proud of my efforts and was raising a “business case” to request a pay rise. She wouldn’t tell me much else but I was like overjoyed. After a couple of weeks, I asked for more details, how long does the process usually take? How much did you request? And was met with very vague answers.

I then went straight to the head manager to enquire and they were more than happy to answer my questions. They said “it goes from us, to higher management, then to the CEO and then is processed by payroll and finance this process usually takes about 3 weeks. Don’t hesitate to ask anything else”

6 weeks later I’ve heard nothing. Am I being fucked around? I know that all of the other staff in my small team have received significant pay increases recently except me. I feel the company is taking me for a ride, and I feel used and under appreciated. I do long hours (on a salary) and I’m getting increasingly bitter and resentful. My partner says to wait another week, if you don’t hear anything just resign.

Has anyone else had a business case for them in a large company and is it a normal process for it to take this long and not be kept in the loop about it?

I tried to include most information.

I’d also like to add that my direct supervisor has been shady whenever I’ve enquired about the pay rise case. She said that “we (our team) all want a pay rise” (she doesn’t know that I’m aware of the rest of our team and herself receiving them).

I have take a pay cut to move to this company because I was under the impression it was a good place to be for career progression.

There are pros and cons with this job, I don’t know if I should stick it out and wait or just fuck ‘em’.
