Edit: I thought this subbreddit didn't allowed text but now that i see it appear on my screen i want to tell you guys my experience working at a retail store in family dollars. Btw while typing this, ive called it quits for the job that i left in for a work home stay. Better option then to deal with these bitter people again.
It has only been a month of me working at this near by retail store that close to my house. Since day one of working there, my assistant mangers were never nice to me. Hell even with the drama my mom start up at my job they always carried a very rude negative judgment eye towards me for no reason. Mind you, i don't really talk to them or ask them for anything yet for some reason they paint me as a burden to be around with. First, they refuse to say Hi to me or even talk to me. Yet when it comes to my other coworkers they are open in talking to them and get so overly excited when they come to work or whiny if they are absent. I can say hi and goodbye or good morning or good evening and they will remain slient with a resting bitch face. But when my other coworker came over they are smiling and asking how's their day…. Werid. Second, they are very impaitence and aggressive with me compare to other people. I was never talk nicely or respectfully from them. Plus any minor incidents that occur in the store whether its them missing an item or a customer have done something the attention is always turn back at me. This one incident from one of my Hispanic manger where she had a problem with me calling her for help in getting a bag of ice for a customer. I had a whole line of customers to ring up there was no way for me to leave my register. I rang my bell to call my assistant manger to help and she begin to whine. She then had the nerve to stop me from ringing a customer order to tell me that i couldve done it myself since she's beusy with her own shift… First of all, i was given to bell to call you for help and assiatance. Your part of being an assiant manger is to help me with stuff I need. For example money needed to add onto the register, pick ups, add money to the customer card, cancelled more than 3 items, open a second register if the first one full or unavailable, cover my spot while I'm on a break and to also get shit for me that i am incapable of doing depending on the situation or by entry responsibility. Second of all, the rule for my entry is to never leave my register or to hand anybody my register while absent. In a general basis, if you have a full line or not you cannot leave your spot because soon a line will be form and I have to be present to quickly get them out of the store. What makes you think it is smart move for me to leave my register for one customer when i have a line already? You're suppose to help me, do your job. Its like they want to switch rules around and think illogically with me out of spite. But when it came to other people they have no issues but when it comes to me they are whining? A second incident is where my main manger got upset with me chewing gum at work and wanted to forbid people bringing snacks at work becayse of how messy the front counter end up to be… Except the fact that I don't trash the whole counter with unpaid items that werent bought and open bags that are left around the counter or BEHIND the store. The assiant manger do that. My assistant manger also eat in front of the customers, laugh or talk incredibly loud while on shift and always have trash behind that are place randomly… Yet my bubble gum is considered a snack and its “filling” up the counter. Like stfu
There's more things i can add but it might eventually lead up to a rant but holy shit thank god I left out of that job before the start of apirl. The amount of disrespect and shady attutide i recieve from them were so random and uneeded i had to leave.
