Unless you're wealthy with great skills in a career you love, applying for jobs is an assault on my mental well being. I have to pretend to be passionate about a job I do for money and that I have no emotional connection to. One could overlook this if the wages were high and you had enough to afford at minimum your basic necessities but nope! We smile and pretend for shit wages and then have to be grateful for the chance to make someone else rich.
