So many have joined the cult of work and believe if you aren't giving your all to a company that doesn't give a rat's ass about you, then there's something wrong with you. Many workers — a great many — are politically reactionary. Many are suck ups and snitches for free because they want to be pet by the boss like a good doggie.
The Bolsheviks believed Russians were so backward in their in their thinking that they needed to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 20th century. Do Americans need this same solution?
