I used to work in restaurants and pubs small enough to not need none of both, but i just got hired in a bigger restaurant with 4 managers and a HR. They gave me the traditional “we're not colleagues, we're family” and so far only one of them is the “you work and i watch while sitting in the back”.
I know every places are different, but as a rule of thumb, are managers just in the same boat as us, or in the end they just try to squeeze every ounce of juice out of us?
Asking so i know if i work 100% to relieve a fellow worker or just the bare minimum for a scummy half boss
