Are we but slaves?

Brothers, sisters and comrades who transcend such worldly titles: I don't keep the gods, old nor new. But those that write our laws do. They know the old stories of civilization built upon the backs of slaves. Wage-slaves we are now, blood and sweat shed for our daily bread. We are entitled to the sweat of our brow, though endless conspiracies are constructed every day to rob us of it. Perhaps the folks who write these lies/laws should be reminded of their own holy scriptures. Deliver onto us the land of milk and honey promised unto Moses. For we have labored for so long for naught. I don't know how to speak to the scribes and dictators of this awful world into which we are tossed. I just hope that our sweat, blood and tears are not for naught. A wiser person than I will guide us. Our only success…

Brothers, sisters and comrades who transcend such worldly titles:

I don't keep the gods, old nor new.

Our only success is together. I hope.

Edit: I write for the USA, where the lawmakers are driven by misguided faith.
