Aristotle On Why We Should Define Ourselves By Our Leisure – Not By Our Work

TLDR: Ancient Greece (and, I'm guessing, many societies from the past) is more similar to our society than I would have guessed. Aristotle reckons that our leisure time should be more than simply “recovering from work”. It should be nurturing to our mind and soul and is a key part of developing our individual selves. He also understands the guilt we feel for not achieving enpugh in our work lives while also feeling guilty for not achieving enough in our personal lives. Worth a read if you're interested in the thoughts of very clever dead people. 3-5 minute read
