Army ad claims soldiers get a month of vacation to use as they want. This wasn’t how it worked in my experience.

I was in the Navy, which is normally more relaxed than Army when it comes to personnel management. We were never as free to use our free time as we wanted as this ad claims. Even if we got the vacation we wanted, we had to jump through all kinds of hoops before getting approvals.
