I read a lot of the posts in here even tho some of them are fake. However as a European I’m saddened to see how bad the work environment is in the US.
It looks like there is just no system in the US compared to Europe. I see sick people that has to go to work to look after themselves. I see newly graduated people not being able to find a job in what they graduated in and therefore has to work in places like restaurants. I see people being forced to go to work on days off.
What is all this? Why doesn’t the US have some kind of system to help the people?
In my country: are you sick? You will get fully payed for the whole day(s).
Having a day off? They can’t force you to come in. If they fire you because of this they will receive a huge fine, you will receive compensation and you will continue your job.
Newly graduated but can’t find a job in your field? Not a problem because the the country will give you 1500-2000 dollars each month to take care of yourself until you find a job.
My dad broke two of his toes while playing football about 13 months ago. For 13 months he has got fully paid every single month and on top of that he got 20.000 dollars from insurance. He is expected to be back at work in 11 months after two years. Oh and the insurance he has is free.
My aunt has had inflammation in her left arm which comes and goes every 2nd month. The inflammation doesn’t bother her the slightest unless she works. She has no problem going on, making dinner and just doing usual everyday stuff. Because of this our state has told her not to work until her inflammations stops. It’s not been 9 years and she has got about 2500 dollars every single month in those 9 years. She doesn’t have insurance or anything.
I mean why is the US so far away when it comes to work environment?
