Asked for more than $2.13/hr to train a new employee. Was denied, time to quit!

I work at a cocktail bar in NC for $2.13/hr + tips. Tomorrow I am scheduled to train a new bartender for 10 hours (5PM-3AM) – I already feel abused and insulted by my low hourly rate, so when I asked if I could clock in at a higher wage for training I was told no as they would have to “raise it for everyone else who trains.” Sounds like a good idea to me! I'm so over being taken advantage of by these people. I helped open this place almost a year ago as the company's third location and I have not been treated or compensated properly. The owner is a greedy narcissist whose only goal is to expand and build his brand across the state (a fourth location just opened with plans for at least three more by the end of the year). Investors are backing these expensive operations, so I know they have the money – they just choose to spend it on expansion rather than taking care of their current employees who actually put in the hours and hard work.

My paycheck for 45 hours rarely exceeds $700.

Updating my resume now, I am worth more than this.
