This is the last time I will be “helping” out my school. Back to school week isn't until next Monday the 8th of August. I was asked to come in and help stuff welcome envelopes, because the front office staff keeps quitting because they pay poorly (it is a private school). I rearranged my schedule, was in the middle of panic attack, I arrive at school to help, immediately start crying, pull through and get the job done, I entered that 1 hour into our payment system and immediately get this email from HR. I am DONE working outside of ANY contracted hours and days.

The daily work environment is much more laid back and empowering for teachers than the 10 years of public school I previously worked. The more I talk to the veteran staff the more I see how they are working them to the bone; after hours to 8pm work load at 65 years old. No fuck that, hire more people! Annual attendance tuition per student is over 10k a year. They can make that work if they tired…
