This happened a week and a half ago. Just a little backstory, I started a new job about a month ago after having surgery and not being able to return to the job I had prior to the procedure. I'm 44 years old and decided I'd get into the restaurant industry starting at the bottom in the dish room since the job is close and has tolerable hours. The day of the incident I was scheduled to close so I was to start around 4, I went to run some errands and when I got home to get ready for work I realized that half of my electric was off in my house, I go to the breakers and see one tripped and it wouldn't reset. I immediately start digging in and smell something burning and shut the whole house down, I immediately called into work and tell them that I have a family emergency and won't be able to come in that day, my manager gives me a huge attitude and I end the call with “I'll see you tomorrow”. This is where the antiwork happens, literally 5 minutes after I get off the phone my fiancee calls me and explains that my manager had called her to bitch at her that I called in, we are not friends, or even remotely associated, bitch got her number from my emergency contact list. Never in my life would I have expected this and immediately called back and cussed her up one side and down the other, needless to say I don't work there anymore. It took me three days to rewire my house.
