“At-will” employment is a reason to fire an employee, but not if it breaks the law.

I was fired for getting sick with Covid. Everyone, including the employer, says “you’re an at-will employee. You can be fired for ANYTHING.” Yeah, maybe. According to the law of my state, it is against the law to fire a person for being sick with Covid. I have the law right in my hand sent to me from the Dept of Labor. My point is if you think you were wrongfully terminated, please check your state laws. Be sure. Just because your employees fired you, doesn’t always mean its legal.
