My Workplace Behaviour module states it’s discrimination to use incorrect pronouns.

I'm happy to use he, she and they (the pronouns they listed) but was surprised they classified refusal as discrimination, it was the only question I got wrong, but it feels wrong to compel speech in general let alone at work. Classifying this as discrimination would make it fireable offence. It's probably a hot topic but I was wondering what you all thought? I'm in Australia for info.

Help: What action(s) can I take against my abusive manager?

I work at a grocery store and I have an abusive manager, and I want her reprimanded. I will be putting in my 2 weeks shortly, but regardless I want her gone, nobody deserves to work for this monster, especially not at $10 an hour lmao. Some info that may be important: We are in Wisconsin, and we work at a Kroger store. I have sources that can back me up for most of these stories, and I believe we have security cameras if needed. Many other employees have left because of her, meanwhile all of my previous managers have had good relationships with me and have offered to be a reference if I need it. All coworkers I have spoken to side with me. Here is a list of some things she has done: – During my first time closing with her, she locked the main doors without telling…

Heartbroken after being terminated for seemingly no reason

This might be a long post but I am frazzled and at a loss for what to do next. I (20F) was hired at an upscale local coffee shop in southern California for a barista position about one week ago. The employer encouraged me to quit my job at the other cafe I was working at, but I did not do it because I hadn't been hired yet. And thank GOD I did not quit. I was extremely excited about this job because it was a huge step up from the other 2 coffee shops I had worked at over the past few years. I was scheduled for training last weekend. I completed all of my duties perfectly, made the place spotless, did everything I was asked, interacted with customers, memorized all of the recipes, and got along very well with my coworkers. It all seemed to be going exceptionally…

Notes of Ego

I started working at the healthcare related job I'm mentioning a few months ago. Since then, there's been a lot to learn cause I have been in healthcare or whatnot, but not the same as what I'm doing. A couple of times I guess I've come across as being pushy, cause since I'm new, I shouldn't be questioning other people on what they are doing cause they've been there longer. Typical stuff. However, since the last time I worked, someone I was documenting for had a noticeable change that day to their care. All of that is charted in their books. So I called the head supervisor and they told me to just write a note for the shift supervisor to change it. I said okay and wrote the note. Came in today and did books. It wasn't until later that shift I noticed a note that was a reply…

Executives offered someone who should have been let go a chance in my department

So this just happened a few weeks ago. I am in an operations role at my workplace with 20 other people. We all had to work our butt off and do interviews to get our job. Now it's a fairly easy one, and we are all WFH. Now we just got a new teammate sprung on us a few weeks ago and we're told that she needed some training in our department to get back on her feet before getting sent back to her sales department. Now I want to be frank, some of us are not pissed at her and her situation. It's the executives that we are pissed at. So this new teammate, she did not have to interview like we all did. A couple executives decided that they were giving her, maybe not even, demanding that she be in our department. The issue is, a few months…

More to my quitting post. Also need more advice.

Post in question. Probably important for context. Also wanted to say that I appreciate the feedback on that post. Today i handed in my written 2 weeks notice. To the same manager who lost my direct deposit (and told me i need to figure out a way to get hair dye and change my hair to a natural color after I explained that i have bills and could lose my house). I thought it was pretty professional and i was told that it didnt matter whether it was typed or written in pen, (and i dont have a printer anyway). Suddenly this manager no longer faked being nice to me! Crazy isn’t it? /s Anyway she basically uno reverse carded me and said i still have to “change my hair by friday or not show up.” Which doesn’t sound like a professional thing to say to an employee. So i…
