Basically I got hurt at work the other day, I fell down someone’s stairs on a delivery and sprained my ankle. Got back to work and let management know which they seemed to not care and told me to finish my shift. Yesterday my ankle hurt so bad I could barely stand so I called out of work which they let me know I needed to find coverage for my shift and a doctors note. Like I said tho I could barely walk so I didn’t get to the doctors office until today. (2 days after the accident) Went to the doctors they took X-rays and basically told me they don’t know if it’s fractured from this sprain or from 5 years ago with a previous sprained ankle that never healed correctly so they have to find the old X-ray and see if it’s a new fracture or old one.…

I worked at Walmart from age 16 to 19. I started as a lawn and garden associate and then became the department manager. When the astronomical workload became too much I switched to CSM (customer service manager) and that was much worse. So much worse in fact that I quit without notice and taped a 2 page complaint to the store managers office and then sent everyone a copy of it so no one could deny or misconstrue my exact issues with the place. I could go deeper into my issues with walmart but I'm sure if you're on this subreddit then you are very familiar with the abuse and neglect that occurs as the bottom of the pyramid. When I got a job at a tiny flour mill, I thought to myself “wow. I did it. I escaped retail”. I was horribly wrong. I didn't know that when I…
My workplace gave me homework
I started a job a few months ago and we are having a full internal restructure now, the new boss that’s coming in is trying to boost everyone’s in depth product knowledge. This is completely unpaid and is expected of us as part of our low salary. We all work Monday to Friday 9-5 and he expects us to do this outside of our work hours over. We weren’t happy about it but did it anyway, he did the same thing this weekend, giving us another in-depth knowledge task at midday on a Friday and expecting it by Monday at 9am for a quiz. He…
Competency is not a blessing but a curse
This is something I have come to learn over the years of working. That it doesn't even really matter if you are particularly talented or a hard worker, just having a basic level of competency means you end up getting shit on often.
Is it just me
Is it just me, or are all workplaces now toxic? I'm a 40 something year old woman who is employed by 20 Something's who don't know what they're doing. I oughta retire and create an onlyfans.
This song has been my jam lately

If you call and don’t leave a message if I can’t pick up the phone at the time you, I will automatically think that: A-you don’t care Or B-You’re a spammer Leave a message! It isn’t difficult or at least give an email, anything. It’s not difficult. And you wonder why people are not showing much interest into going to or finding work. You will get what you put out.
