So Fox News is running this story [Great Resignation': Over 70% of workers regret quitting their jobs] and they work -really- hard to put a “you should have stayed put in our job” spin on it, but I'll save you the effort and blood pressure rise and “translate” for y'all because what the article -really- indicates is that when the workers of the “great resignation” leave a job for another job, and that job wants to play games too, those workers choose to (suprise suprise) LEAVE! They don't “regret” leaving their other job, they just keep going, and will keep going, until they find someone who doesn't play all the games with them.

Your work or your health?
Earlier this week, I wrote a post about how my company that deals in Personalized Healthcare really is dealing in Personalized Denial of Healthcare – at least for me, their employee. Funny thing is that Medicaid would pay for the procedure I need. Oh, I’d have to go through their hoops for coverage, but I’d at least get the care I need. But giving up my pay, a job I really do enjoy and know well, and otherwise decent insurance – to make sure I don’t die? Why do I have to pick between these?
Midwest Dilema
Hello all, I work for a large hospital chain in the Midwest, my boss told the team that we will not be receiving a raise (that had been dangled in front of us for the last 2 months now), and that instead we should be “utilizing our benefits more efficiently”. Any advice?
How to stay motivated?
The consesus is that working a lot is bad for your mental health , etc. But how do you stay motivated working 50hour weeks when you cant afford to work less?
I (19F) have been working in fast food for over a year, as well as doing university full-time. I have only stuck around for this long because I am uneligible for government benefits until at least July, and I need a way to pay rent/groceries. I am also doing a traineeship as it's essentially the only way to get guaranteed hours per week, and I can't live off of working only twice a week. For as long as I've been there, the rosters have been a complete fucking mess. Putting people on when they've said they can't work, rostering high schoolers to start at 3pm, flat-out not getting shifts covered… it'a atrocious. This all accumulated to the end of December last year, where I ended up in hospital in the middle of work (I was unharmed but I went there for precaution) and fell into a depression relapse episode for…
They build homes/mansions/palaces for fun, while their workers can't pay rent. For reference: in 2006; $480K could PURCHASE a decently sized house IN FULL. It is on a 10 acre property right on the lake in the heart of Oakville. Hugo was the president of Labatt Brewing Company. We are definitely not paid enough. (i.e. the disparity between top and bottom pay is too great). There is lots of space available to build; it is unfortunately all reserved for rich people.
