I'm quitting my job next week and have an offer lined up with another company; better pay, a million times better benefits, working conditions. I need to make maximum use of my Healthcare benefits in the next two weeks. So far I have a boot slip for new safety boots (they'll never even be used lol), a dentist visit, massage, and physiotherapy planned. Hmu reddit, how do you recommend I make my benefits plan feel like a shell of its former self, or just general tips to take advantage of in the last two weeks of work?
I Need Advice On Getting Fired
So, 4 days before my landlord starts eviction proceedings, I got approved for an apartment. I will be moving out of Utah. I work remotely for a hospital chain in CA. I had to fill out paperwork to be approved to work in another state, but I needed an address. Didn't know what that was going to be until today. My work has put a freeze on working in other states. They won't open up accepting forms until Fall 2022. I can either work in Utah or resign. I'm not going to be doing either of those things. I pretty much can work my weekend shift this coming weekend. I need to get fired in order to get UE. Any advice? I'm worried the company will Cover Their Ass me out of getting UE.
Questions about FB comment about wages
So I got a call from my best friend today that he got fired. He's always been a responsible and dedicated employee. For reference he's a captain on a tow boat in the proximity of the Mississippi River. He's been at this company for 10 years. 6 of those years was a Deckhand, then he went and got certs to be a Captain, which is what he's been doing for the past 4 years. So apparently either he posted a status correlating to or something that had a thread where he voiced his unfair treatment surrounding his company. Word got out, and the owners of the company today decided to part ways. He was making 475 a day, and new captains were getting started out at 535. He said that he'd been trying to set up a meeting to discuss his pay, and that there was supposed to be a…
Let’s send sub – manufacturing to China
https://time.com/6150027/china-russia-ukraine-xi-jinping-putin/ So we set them up to have the manufacturing super power the US was in WWII all because of Wall St and profit. Bringing jobs back to the United States is obviously going to be a priority now, but let's also remember giving employees dignity and a good Quality of life.
Yeah, the company I work for pays pretty shit. But a whopping 5 months later they finally mention a raise to me. Because I don't stand around. I look for ways to help out other coworkers with anything they're working on as much as I can. If there's nothing I can contribute, I look for small stuff to do like cleaning up oil stains on the ground, emptying out the containers we catch oil in, etc. Meanwhile I listen to these other guys mope around about their shitty pay. But they wear their attitude on their sleeve. They expect better pay but don't want to do shit to earn it. Meanwhile on the flip side I'm really annoyed by the stupidity of being frustrated you keep getting employees who don't care about their business while starting people off at the same pay as a fast food worker for a fairly…
I know that many Russians are against war, probably most Russians. But there are probably many people who see all of this as an opportunity for profit, just like the US military industrial complex. Don't get your hopes up that Russian workers will bring about a halt to Putin's actions through a general strike. Never say never, but keep your expectations in check.
Not having a good week
After finishing my third lone kitchen close in a row two hours ago, I just marched upstairs to bed chanting “2 more days of work then a day off” pretty sure this is not a healthy way to exist.
