Burnt out to the point I’m suicidal
Hello. Throwaway account here. I work as a dental microsurgery nurse (basically implants, complicated extraction etc). 3 weeks ago, had tumour removal and hand reconstruction surgery. My boss asked me to go back to work since my coworker took a month off as her dad died and is overseas. Everything was okay until i realised disposable gloves rubbing on top of my surgical wound is nasty, and a patient accidentally hit my stitches sent my whole body into pain. I told my boss/dentist about and the only response i got was “you’ll be okay, sometimes we just have to suck it up”. I told his wife who’s the practice manager managed to talk to him and she said i can rest for a bit but at the end of the day, he’s still the one calling the shots. I appreciate her concern but she really cant do much. When my…
I had a coworker at my previous job who was training me, and I asked her “too many questions” once over email. I had been there for about a month. She snapped at me and wrote a 5 paragraph long email telling me how awful I was at completing training, criticized my work ethic, told me I need to pay attention, and overall attacked me. Though it’s hard to describe without going into too much detail, this was a VERY personal attack from someone I had no issues with prior. I forwarded it to my supervisor who called me to apologize and would talk to her. From what I understand, nothing came out of it but for weeks I trained under somebody else. Not surprising though, because my supervisor talked shit about all her employees(my coworkers) to me behind their backs besides her because she’s “funny.” In addition, my previous…

Wait, They Can Do That?
Came in today to learn one of the cashiers was no longer working at our store (great short staffed for the third time this week, oh well). But apparently his psychiatrist called on his behalf, and quit for him saying it was too much stress on him. I'm like damn what does that mean for the rest of us? Also maybe I need to get me a psychiatrist to quit for me lol.
I started working for this business very recently. Apparently I applied for a job in a department that had not even been started yet. Nobody told me that. The date it was supposed to start kept getting pushed back. After being there for three months it is just getting off the ground and that’s barely anything. I haven’t even been able to be trained for that job because the higher ups don’t know what the hell is going on. But let’s table that for now. The first trained me on the floor and then they trained me as a cashier. Neither were the department they told me I’d be in while I was waiting for my department to open, but I digress. They push the new employees very hard. They have an extremely high turnover rate and do not have the time to properly train new employees. Just after a…
