This is going to be a long one. I'm on mobile TL;DR- I was accused of many things with no evidence, I demanded the evidence that had to be provided. Corp lady threatens to fire me so I go to HR, and find out I have actually been targeted for reasons I was not told. Corporate Policies listed at end. Background: I am “Young” for my field (6 years between myself and the next person) and I am a trans man who has been on T for 9 months, but still look very gender neutral (which people assume is female). I have been here for 6 months where as everyone else here has been here for 2-13 years. My Office manager got fired without any word one day, so our Corporate Office Coordinator has been substituting. We have 4 daily workers, with 8 rotating doctors who bring 1 technician with…

Behind every successful person there are hundreds, possibly even thousands or millions, of people who supported them. These supports are family, friends, customers, employees, fans, voters, stockholders, tax payers (think corporate welfare), etc., who all contributed to making this one individual's dream come true. Yet even after these people — often men — have gained their money, status, and power, we further bestow upon them the bullshit title of “Self-made man”. We put people like Elon, Bezos, Obama, Trump, Pitt and DiCaprio on little pedestals to be admired and adored for their innate greatness. What do you think about society hero worshiping people who have attained (or were born into) money, status, and power? I Walked Out
Things my manager did to make me walk out after they'd only been there three weeks and I'd been there a year: • change mine and my coworkers days/number of hours worked every two weeks without talking to any of us • during a disagreement/discussion over end dates of signed contracts, yelled at me that I was telling her how to do her job and hung up on me • targeted two of my coworkers during an all staff meeting, to which they responded by quitting on the spot, causing major issues in uncovered hours/tasks • lied about knowledge of our computer programs, I fixed her mistakes everyday • added new tasks and responsibilities without discussion, such as having me onboard new employees, setting up their paperwork and computer logins, which are things only the manager has computer permissions for so I literally couldn't do them • told me to…
They’ll Kill You, Then Re-open Shop
I last posted this with generalities, but I figured I'd name and shame with this post, now: Alaska Excursions, based out of Skagway, AK disregarded documented years of safety recommendations from past and current employees for their most popular guided tour, Glacier Point. It led to a canoe capsizing in a raging river, sending all occupants into freezing water. A tourist on his honeymoon died from blunt force trauma after being bashed against rocks in the rapids. The other occupants of the canoe were luckily rescued by the Coast Guard (your tax dollars saving private business' fuckups). It could have happened to anyone on that tour. The sheriff ruled it an accident. Alaska X continued tours a couple weeks later, but this time with the safety recommendations that past employees were screaming about for years. The company got their license renewed by the city they operate out of a year…

u/the_rainbowfish reminded me of something that happened in my old job. Disclaimer: This happened to another person, and this is all from what others told me. I was a maintenance tech in a factory, and one day, I encountered the keys of a machine operator left in one of his machines. I later learned that the operator had quit and left the machine's keys there because the factory had not accepted his resignation. One of the older maintenance techs told me that the machine operator had given his 2 week notice, but the factory rejected it because they wanted him to stay and train someone since he was the only one that knew how to operate specific machines and none of the other operators didn't. (The machines were very old). However, the factory had not given him a timeline of how long this would take and had not selected or…
I work at a school my school that introduced these repetitive computer lessons that now take up a good third if not more of the school day . Some of the kids unsurprisingly hate them and will do anything to get out of them. So now we apparently can’t let them get water or go to the bathroom during computer time until we meet our class quota of minutes . These are very young children I’m so angry .
