Follow up to my previous post. I was replaced and demoted without notice a month ago, so I quit. Last week my bosses texted me but I didn't see their messages because I blocked them. I asked my friend who still works there if the store was down bad and they needed me. Apparently, the girl who packs for the farmers markets keeps fucking up so they want me back and my replacement is getting twice the work but getting paid less. I shouldn't be surprised that they're greedy and shamelessly asking me to come back after treating me like I'm nothing but… 🤷‍️ I feel bad for the replacement, too. That whole place just sucks.

i(f19) am a broke college student living in san diego who normally doesn’t qualify for anything due to my mom having an upper-middle class lifestyle. i have been working at a minimum wage job that i hate since september. my coworkers are lazy and never do their work, so the managers are constantly taking me away from my own to do others tasks. the work/effort i am putting in is worth more than the california $15 and now they have been cutting hours down heavily and today i saw i only have 5 hours next week. this is seriously hurting my account. im a full time student who already has enough on my plate and it’s getting to the point where my anxiety has been pretty bad lately due to not knowing what to do here. can anyone recommend anything or share any tips? thanks so much in advance!

I work in a technology driven industry and we held a belated party today, it's a company that prides itself into being cool and non exploitative. I got a chance to have a talk with the big boss while he was drunk and got him to question some of his profit driven ideals, he prides himself with being progressive but always comes down to a profit driven mentality I.e giving employees leeway only because it helps productivity and not because hey we're human beings that deserve better. I managed to question some of his ideas while praising him. Hope it sticks out till Monday.

Washing dishes for a Hibachi and sushi restaurant is brutal all I do when I get off work is lie down or sit down to rest fall asleep without brushing my teeth and repeat the same thing going to work the next day I have blisters on my feet from my shoes I get called in all the time I have adhd so most of the time my mind is somewhere else and dread the idea of having to work faster just to keep up.

I work for a licensed Starbucks store in Texas. I was hired as full time, and in the past couple of weeks my hours have been drastically reduced because of “too many labor hours” in the store overall. So they’re reducing them. How is that my fault that they have too many labor hours? Why should I have to suffer for their mistake? My roommate recently moved out and I have a $700 rent staring me in the face next month. I can’t work 21 hours a week and survive. I can’t. Working 40 hours was perfect; I could balance school full-time and work. I was able to actually save some money too!! I only make $12.85 an hour, but I built a nice little savings and I was able to afford a down payment on an older car and I didn’t have to walk to work anymore. But with…

A few months ago I quit a karaoke gig after waiting a month and a half to get paid and they tried to pay me less than what we'd agreed to. The manager wanted me back and asked me what it would take. I told him I wanted almost double the pay and I want it up front. When I get there, if there isn't a check waiting for me I'm out. About a month ago I got a message from him saying he got it in writing from the owner. I came back and after a month they've held up their end of the deal. Don't be afraid to put your foot down.
