Overwhelmed at work
Hi everyone. Sorry in advance if my grammars not great. Been a rough day. I work at a retirement home. Have for about 6 years, amd volunteered here for 4 years before hire. I have known my boss this whole time, and she's become a close friend during this time. She has been on and off work for about the past year due to health, and today discovered she has cancer and has no idea when or if she will return. I have been acting manager in her place while she has been out. I loved my job, but after the treatment from managers I am so overwhelmed and tired. We have been short staffed and have had three people in the last 5 months quit our department due to work issues. I have asked our general manager for help, or extra hours and a boost in pay to help…
Save up some money and start a business
You can do anything lawn care/car detailing/box truck business…if your gonna work under someone you will get fucked over that's reality. You can work on your own schedule and don't have to take shit from your employer that's greedy invest in yourself. Anyways just feel like I need to state the obvious here feel like most of us are not actually anti work but just hate to work for other people.
Don’t get too comfortable around banks

Sense of community among workers – A lot of discussion goes on here about unionising, organising, building communities. Working from home actively isolates workers from each other, and removes an inherent bond that I feel is built by face-to-face cooperative labor. This is the problem with capitalism as a system: it keeps people docile and self-hating because it isolates them. It keeps people from revolt by keeping them self-interested. Work-from-Home has extended this even further. Visibility of abuse or special treatment – One of the benefits of working in the office,…
Hi quit my job in January and was overpaid in my last pay. How it works here in Australia is that you can’t get welfare (Centrelink) until you have a Employment separation certificate. Well I’ve been chasing that up for the last few weeks and today I got an email saying they won’t give me one until I pay the overpayment amount in full. The problem is I don’t have the money it was $900. I’m wondering if anyone here knows if this is legal? (In Australia) Thanks in advance
