Today during our work huddle when we have time to ask questions, we asked a question & as always my boss gets upset and doesn’t want to answer us. After we get upset he says “There is nothing worse then a crabby woman.” So I then replied, “Yes there is.. it’s called a crabby man!” He rolls his eyes and says “Nooooo…” & then someone replied, “Also add a man with a cold” Sorry men who are reading… but my boss is a DICK! And this is an acceptable day at work.
Hello, corporates worst nightmare here, this business driven leftist who’s infiltrated upper management. I have the opportunity to be a GM and understand that I have no backing of the IWW due to hiring/firing power. I am in a very anti union state, so unionization is not in a lot of workers minds. What is something management can do to protect workers and further union goals? Can a store manager ensure a union victory?

I know it’s easier said than done, but fuck it all, and go. I’m in Phuket right now, I’m staying 5 star resorts for less than the cost of rent at my shithole efficiency in the states. I just had some Chicken Satay with peanut sauce, rice and a mango for 70 baht (that’s about $2.04). Any remote job at all, let’s you live a decent life free from antivaxxers, Karens, and assholes “rolling coal”. The American dream isn’t there, it’s 8000 miles away.
Cross-posted with some edits from r/callcenters and on an alt account for privacy. I'm currently working in a call center outsourced to collect payments for one of the big cable/internet providers. I started working here over a year ago because they promised me a wfh schedule once I got out of training, and 15/hr plus commission. I started, did well, and it went okay. Cut to a few months later when a spot in “management” opens up. I send them my resume thinking I've got a shot, and they end up promoting me to their nighttime lead. What they don't tell you before promotion is that this is the worst position they offer. As an agent on the phones, if you manage to make maximum commission (which is entirely possible given the calls aren't terrible and you're good at your job, just most agents dont achieve it) you make 22.50/hr.…
