My brother works at a petrol station and here's a list of their terrible policies:
- If the place is robbed, lost money gets taken from his pay
- He is expected to be “Permanently on call” for short notice shifts. Ie, finding out he has work in the morning at 10pm the night before
- Releasing assigned shifts at the start of the week so he can never plan more than a week in advance
- his resignation was “Refused” because he only gave one months notice, not three
- if the till is slightly off at the end of his shift, the amount is removed from his pay
- they won't provide him with a copy of his (digitally signed) contract
- holiday requests ignored
How are some of these things legal?
