Awkward run in with ex manager

I used to work for a very popular and highly successful and fast food company for 15 years. I quit about two years ago for a long list of reasons, but basically management just sucked and things were going downhill. It was no longer the fun well paying job it once used to be. I ended up going back to school and got into teaching early childhood education. The pay and politics in the teaching world are just as bad as working in fast food, but overall, it’s a more rewarding career, not as physically demanding as working in a kitchen, and a happier place to be over all. Welp, earlier this evening I went into my old store for some dinner, and ran into my ex manager. I ask him how he’s been, and he immediately starts complaining about how he heard one of his employees is now working…

The pay and politics in the teaching world are just as bad as working in fast food, but overall, it’s a more rewarding career, not as physically demanding as working in a kitchen, and a happier place to be over all. Welp, earlier this evening I went into my old store for some dinner, and ran into my ex manager. I ask him how he’s been, and he immediately starts complaining about how he heard one of his employees is now working with me at my school district. I explain to him that they were technically still a student, but yes, they were working with me in our classroom to gain their credentials. He then says something along the lines of “we’ll I guess if you want to work for free then, whatever” and storms off without even saying bye or it was nice seeing you. He even made a comment one point about my green colored hair saying “oh they let you do that there huh?” Like, yeah no shit, most school districts are inclusive and understanding of an individuals choice to express themselves (unnatural hair color, tattoos, and piercings for employees aren’t allow at the restaurant). Lmao, what an ass! Two years later and he’s still clueless as to why his employees are leaving his ass.
