Hey all this company hires young workers from enterprise rent a car primarily and has a tendency to fire people without a solid reason and the best part they do it before holidays. I was let go right before thanksgiving and my co worker was let go today ( Labor Day weekend). I don’t want to go into details of the company’s “practices” but would like to know if any of my fellow anti work friends are familiar with this terrible company. To state performance was not an issue, continuous asks to take on more account responsibility to grow “book of business” was always shoved away unless you were part of the “good old girls club”. They are notorious for hiring a lot of folks during onboarding and in less than 12 months of employment letting employees go after securing business contracts for them, jobs, or placing travel nurses. To shed some light on the pay structure they take an average 35-50% cut from nurses. I.e. a nurses hourly pay may be $100 billed to the hospital but as an agency AYA will take $50 of it for overhead costs. Giving the nurse $50 an hour and as a recruiter you will get $500-1000 in commission based off the nurses hourly pay during their 3 month travel contract. Also salary is $35,000.
AYAs onboarding had several red flags during training such as “we are family”,culture driven, we never fire, smiling way to much, unlimited PTO, and sub sub par virtual training that reminded me of an inexperienced business class power point presentation exam. Anyways appreciate you all and hope you never have to experience a company like this. I didn’t scratch the surface of Aya’s toxicity and poor standards for placing travel nurses in positions of life and death situations that’s for another time.
