My company recently instated a strict back to office policy whereby anyone who wants to work from home must submit their request, approved by their manager, at least 30 days beforehand, and no one can work from home more than 90 days per year. This was sent out via email, to which my boss replied “this is how my team will do things: all of my staff will submit requests to work from home on all Mondays and Fridays, while retaining the right to change their schedule at any time for any reason. If anyone has a problem with this, they can take it up with me directly.” After working a previous job where no one seemed to have my best interests in mind, it’s nice to have a boss who sticks up for me.
