Lemme know if I’m keeping to the anti-work tenants…
So recently I left a low-key job because I was falling behind on bills and joined a similar job because they promised more $$. They basically forced my hand and made me leave my previous job with little notice to keep my health insurance.
Welp…The $$ is good, but the hours are Horrendous!! Two months in, and I don’t understand these grind-minded pawns who work 70hrs a week while sacrificing their bodies to the altar of their billionaire CEO’s.
Did I make a buncha money? Sure.
Is this sustainable…NO!!! I only get one lower-back!
I’m going back to my previous job and giving them the same 2-day notice to my new job that the current one previously imposed on me.
(They’re freaking out over the short notice btw; irony is fun)
But what I’m kicking myself over, is that the job I left (and am returning to) had no restrictions on overtime. I left because I wasn’t making enough, but it’s because I didn’t work LESS!
It’s delivery and I can literally pull over at any time, take a nap, sit on my laptop, maybe have an hour’s paid lunch at a roadside Denny’s.
I’m an idiot! Thank God I get to go back. I can make more money by working LESS! Did I learn nothing from this sub?!? At least I’m realizing it now…I keep telling people I had a safe job in a bunker of mediocrity and no oversight, then I left the bunker and got attacked by capitalist murder hornets…BACK TO THE BUNKER!
Lemme know if this is in line with the anti-work movement or not. I’m trying to walk to the anti-work line and live my goddamned short life as best I can.
