Lost my job a year ago for reporting safety concerns. I was a part of the work force for 30 years and am fed up with the oppressive tactics used to subjugate the workforce.
I've had a few job offers, each time I stated that I expected to make X dollars an hour and the companies never failed to offer at least two bucks less. Each time I stood firm on my salary requirement but the employers refused to negotiate.
My most recent interview went well and I told them I needed to make X dollars an hour. They came back with an offer of X-2, but added that third shift has a 2 dollar differential so I'd be making what I was asking for.
I'm not twelve. I see what they did there.
Any constructive tips on negotiating for what I'm worth without losing the offer?
