So, pre pandemic the company I worked for allowed ppl to take vacation and travel to their home countries. Some of these people even end up using personal leaves of absences to accomplish having enough time off to visit family since we are only given 2 weeks of vaca for your first 5 years of employment.
Now, because of travel delays and possibly getting stuck somewhere outside of our country, HR decided to come up with a policy where you have to sign a document saying you will return at the end of your vacation time or you will be fired. Doesn't matter why you delayed nor does it matter that they already set the precedent you can use personal leaves… Just hardline no delay.
Since the implementation of this policy more than 5 employees have either been fired or resigned because they would prefer to see their families over working here and I don't blame them. I wish I could help…
And before you say so, yes I'm already trying to find other employment.
