I am (or was, I quit today) a laundry aide for context. I just told my boss that my grandma died two days ago and planned to go to her funeral but was still willing and did go into work despite that I could call off to let myself grieve. I have mental and physical issues so I can’t move really fast without needing a break so I take my time but still work efficiently.
I work overnights and am by myself so I usually put on a YouTube video or Spotify music (which I use most of the time), just for background noise, doesn’t affect my performance. She’s accused me of many things I didn’t do and lying when I’ve been doing my job, taking pictures to prove it and checked the floors every 2 hours as she requested. The nurses have claimed I wasn’t there to check for linens but they also don’t do their job so it’s interesting she believed them over asking me.
She is the type of person to talk about people behind their back, she’s shit on other people to me and definitely about me to my other coworkers as they just stopped talking to me at one point.
I got this job before she became a manager here but ever since she’s been here I’ve been on edge, now especially since she’s turned on me.
I’m glad to be out of there but goddamn. Does this seem unprofessional to anyone else? I’ll answer any additional questions in comments.
