Being laid off in June after asking about my wage going up.

From the UK here. Currently undertaking an Apprenticeship which is basically slave Labour in exchange for a qualification while you work, I get paid just under £4 an hour. A year after starting an apprenticeship though your wage is suppose to go up to the minimum wage which for me would have been June. I was also told during interviews that they have a track record of keeping all of their apprentices. Since started not one single person who isn’t their family member has told me they had an apprenticeship which them which was worrying at the start. I left my stable job before this as I was sick of retail work and this was a chance to get back into what I want to do. I left my stable job before this as I was sick of retail work and this was a chance to get back into what I want to do.

Well I’ve been told today that due to lack of finance for me I’m gone in June despite a new senior member of staff being taken on (Who just happens to be family to the guy that owns the place, in fact 90% of people working there are related) and others being given wage raises. The cited things like increasing gas price as if I am not 10x more screwed now as I won’t have any income toward my imminent tripled gas bill.

Just thought I’d vent not even sure if this is the right place.
