In this youtube video, an AI created by google is nearly as good as a human expert in doing some tasks; for the first time, it is capable of basic mathematical problem-solving. It won't be long before an AI is so skilled that it renders most service jobs obsolete. Innovation and discoveries that would have taken us thousands of years will be made in the next few decades. The singularity may come soon.
This, along with humanoid robots, will force us to fundamentally rethink our economic system as it makes no sense to require money to live when one cannot work, yet the resources are abundantly available. So far, I like the idea of a Resource Based Economy proposed by Jacque Fresco (1916-2017)
