Met my 70ish year old neighbor today. She's retired but still works 20hr a week because her pension is not enough to cover basic life. She's had multiple cancers and is not in really good health.
She works in a store, starts at 7AM, but she comes around 5:30AM, unpaid, so she would prepare everything that needs to be done by 7.
I lost it, her managers come at 8Am (she confirmed lol), take their bonuses and spit out her measly 3-4€ and she's freakin proud of her sacrifice for the modern pharaoh. She's like: But if I don't come who is gonna do it? Well, is it your problem??? Shouldn't the managers worry about why there's no baked bread at 7Am? Should they be paying their workers to arrive on time so that everything gets done? Is it really on a sick retired person getting paid scraps for part time job to ake care of those things? What do you think will happen when you have to stop working? So sad…
