Boomers: You all struggled, but you didn’t have to.

I recently recalled a conversation I had with my father (who since passed) about the wage disparity, bootstraps, the whole 9 yards. He remained adamant about how he was struggling, and therefore doesn't understand the plight of millenials/gen Z/etc. I essentially told him: “Dad, you moved out at 18, became a father at 21, and only survived because any full-time job during your time (he was a mechanic) was able to support a family. Now imagine us, living at home, 2 degrees, and still not making shit comparatively.” His argument devolved into “If I could do it, you can”. Yeah. Sure.
